Introducing the Levine Impact Lab’s Inaugural Cohort

In June 2023, the Levine Impact Lab's inaugural cohort met in person for the first time. Over the course of the week, eight visionary leaders came together to share their experiences as movement-builders in the nonprofit space, discuss shared pain-points as they seek to scale, and envision a path towards expanded impacts.

Joined by Peter Levine, members from the Honnold Foundation team, and an external facilitator, the meet-up wasn’t just about maximizing program outputs or networking: it was a retreat intentionally designed to offer leaders a reprieve from their day-to-day roles, the space needed for strategically reflect, and an opportunity to build relationships with values aligned nonprofits operating their space.

Earlier this year, Alex Honnold asked: “What does it take to scale an organization from a few people to a national movement? How do we help nonprofits access the resources they need to scale? If community-led solar initiatives offer an untapped path forward to a more equitable world, how do we maximize those efforts?”

Cohort members worked with Peter to answer these questions for their own organization. Ultimately, they identified a few crucial areas where their organizations could benefit from additional support: finance and business planning, executive leadership training, and, more broadly, access to social capital in the VC community are all ways that leaders look forward to working with the LIL Team to bring to fruition.

In the coming two years, each of our cohort members will be matched with a team of Impact Advisors. Alongside Peter, these industry-leading, cross-sector experts will add capacity and provide strategic guidance to each organization. Reach out to our team if you’re interested in learning more about volunteering as an Impact Advisor.
